It was established in the San Francisco Bay area in 2005 and has
successfully grown into one of the top catering companies in the
Bay Area. Whether it’s for a corporate luncheon, private wedding
or an event Above & Beyond is there to meet your needs. We are
about delectable food & incredible people to make sure your
event is a success.
It is owned by the husband and wife team of Anthony & Anna Barr.
With over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry
Chef Anthony Barr decided to start Above & Beyond Catering.
Using fresh and sustainable products in everything that Above &
Beyond prepares for clients stems back to Anthony’s childhood of
being raised on a farm in the deep south of Georgia, which is
where his passion for cooking all started. The desire to become
a Chef led him to training at the California Culinary Academy in
San Francisco. Once he completed his education he worked with
owner Danny Wilsner of Ella’s in San Francisco and helped open
Rigiolo Café with Pascal Rigo, the owner of Bay Bread . He then
took the position of Executive Chef at Crystal Springs Catering
where he found his true passion. Anna Barr is the master mind
behind all of the baked goods that leave Above & Beyond’s
kitchen. She discovered her talent after attending baking school
and training under Chef Jennifer Altman of Bay Wolf.
